HRVS-DN Application

The HRVS-DN is the latest generation, digital Medium Voltage Soft Starter, designed for use with standard MV AC induction motors. This highly sophisticated soft starter ensures smooth, stepless acceleration and deceleration, eliminating high inrush current and damaging mechanical torque shock and equipmnent wear on startup and stopping. The HRVS-DN is available as a complete starter including in-line contactor, disconnect switch and bypass contactor or as a chassis unit for integration into custom switchgear.

Also available: Option for synchronous and multi-motor applications.

Control Inputs & Outputs

  • Control voltage: 110 - 120VAC, 50/60hz standard, (220-240VAC or 110-220VDC optional)
  • Separate inputs for Start, Stop (Emergency) and Soft Stop
  • Two programmable External fault inputs
  • Aux. contacts - three N/O relays, 8A, 250V, 2000VA:
    • Immediate Relay - changes state upon start signal, adjustable ON & Off delay. Returns to original state upon voltage outage, fault, stop signal and soft stop signal. It can also be configured as a "shear- pin alarm" contact.
    • End of Acceleration Relay - operates upon completion of starting process, adjustable On delay. Returns to original state upon voltage outage, fault, stop and soft stop signals
  • Fault Relay - can be programmed as:
    • Fault - changes state upon Fault, returns to original state upon reset
    • Fault-Fail-Safe - changes state upon control voltage connection, returns upon fault
  • Insulation Alarm relay - changes position upon insulation detection at a pre-programmed level
